The world is changing rapidly.
Globalization, digitalization, recession, terrorism, international tensions and
global warming – how will we navigate through these uncertain times? We will
thrive and prosper with leadership from outstanding students like you who have a
global vision and the ability to lead others. Are you up to the challenge?
As a long-time professor at Harvard
University, I have enjoyed the privilege of helping to train thousands of leaders
in many fields. Thirty-eight current world leaders have benefitted from a
Harvard education, along with thousands of business and society leaders. You
will certainly become one of those leaders regardless of the educational path
you choose. Participating in the Global
Youth Ambassador Competition identifies you as a future leader regardless
of your final standing in this competition.
What is a leader? Is it someone
who merely has followers? It is much more than that. It is a person who can
develop and share a vision for the future, someone who can learn from others,
and someone able to inspire and motivate. As you grow and learn, you will have
the ability to lead others, to help raise the global standard of living, reduce
poverty and contribute to the health, safety, prosperity and happiness of all
people, one community at a time.
It is an honor for me to play a
small role in your journey. I look forward to getting to know you and being
inspired by you.
